Signage is Pollution

Two signs appeared suddenly on on the riverbank on 26 September 2024.

Why are they needed all of a sudden, the riverbank has always been sharp with uneven surfaces. That is the nature of a river bank!

On 3 September the CEO of the Town of Claremont, Ms Liz Ledger, responded to a public question raised at Council as follows :

'Question 7

Can the Administration provide a report on the impact the existing human footprint has had on the natural environment over the past decade? If not, would this be a part of the work to be undertaken if this plan proceeds? (referring here to the Foreshore Management Plan)

Answer 7

This was not part of the scope of this project, so we do not have this information available.

An outcome of the Plan is to set priorities and articulate needs to protect, preserve, and enhance the natural environment.' (emphasis added)

Then, 23 day later these signs are erected. Do these signs '...protect, preserve, and enhance the natural environment...'.
